has been specifically written to the syllabus of the
awarding body of your chosen qualification.
You will receive a high level of proactive support from both

Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd runs a team of student
advisers who are here just to help you.
When you first contact us you will be allocated a personal
student adviser. They will ensure that you are given the
best possible advice prior to you starting your course, and
will continue to do so throughout your course of study,
whenever you need it..
Course Packs
When your application to study with Virtual and Open
Learning Academy Ltd is accepted, you will receive one of
our study packs. Your pack will have been written to a
specific syllabus, so you can be confident that your course
will cover everything you need in order to pass your
examination.
Qualified Tutors
All Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd tutors are fully
qualified teachers holding either a Postgraduate Certificate
in Education or a degree in education. So when you enrol on
an Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd course you can be
assured of the assistance of a professionally qualified
subject specific tutor.
Assignment Marking
All Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd courses have tutor
marked assignments within them. We call these TMAs. Your
tutor will mark these pieces of work and give you specific
help based on your answers. In addition to this specific
help, Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd will add a
specimen answer to help you see where your strengths and
weaknesses lie.

submitting assignments, you should expect to be in contact
with your tutor regularly. Remember, to get the most out of
your tutor, you will need to tell them when you need

Academic Achievement
We have a responsibility to ensure that students are only
admitted to courses that are suitable for them
Students applying for higher level courses are expected to
have previously obtained 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or an
equivalent qualification. Some higher level courses require
prior knowledge of the subject, e.g. Maths 'A' level. We
recommend that students do not attempt more than 2 GCSEs or
1 'A' level at one time.
The Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd reserves the right
to decline any application to study without giving a reason.
Age
Virtual and Open Learning Academy Ltd does not currently
admit students under the age of 18 years of age.
